Day tour in Inle Lake

Inle lake is probably one of the most magical places in Myanmar located in the heart of Shan State which shares borders with Thai and Laos. Today you will be escorted around the lake, to explore and learn about some of its incredible past. From your hotel on the lake, you will be picked up by our guide in a local boat, and transported to the various sights. Some of the highlights include local silversmiths, silk weavers, and cigar makers. Most impressively you will witness the local way of life of the Inthar people, who live on the lake. Then visit to the Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, one of the famous principal shrines in Myanmar, this pagoda houses five small Buddha images.  Once a year, in end September or early October, there is its pagoda festival during which the four Buddha images are rowed around the Lake in a colourful barge. Then visit to the old Nga Phe Chaung Monastery, known as for the jumping cats’ monastery.  You can watch local fisherman, rowing one legged, visit the floating gardens, and pass by villages made entirely on the lake. For lunch, you will stop at a local restaurant to enjoy some of the day’s local catches from the lake, before continuing your exploration in the afternoon. You will be dropped off at your hotel as the sun begins to set.
