E-visa drives out visas on arrival

 The number of foreigners using visas on arrival has been declining after the introduction of e-visa system, according to the Immigration Department.  The e-visa system was launched on September 1, 2014 for 41 countries, most of which are in Asia. On October 2, 24 more countries were included in the programme, including several European countries. Read More.....

In 2014, a record number of tourists visited Kyite Htee Yoe Cultural Zone, the site of Golden Rock, according to the data from the Mon State Development Group, which collects entrance fees for the tourist attraction.

30,000 tourists use E-Visa within four months of launch

Within four months of the launch of the E-Visa system, more than 30,000 foreign travellers entered Myanmar, most of them from the US, followed by Britain and Japan.

Numbers of visitors exceeds 3 million

More than three million tourists visited Myanmar in 2014, which is more than the number predicted by the Hotel and Tourism Ministry. The ministry expected at least three million tourists to visit in 2014.

The Secretariat

This old building is located in the Sparks Street (now Bo Aung Kyaw Street), and it extends to the Juda Eiscal Street (now Thein Byu Road). It is a three-storied building and was constructed about over 100 years ago.
